Meet Megan

Professional Organization has been an obvious career choice for me- I have been organizing since I was small. On weekends, I would organize my family’s pantry or bookshelves, just for fun (thrilling my parents, of course.) I reinforced my organization skills while earning my degree in Biology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo- time and project management skills were necessary just to survive my classes.

While I've always had a natural talent for organizing, it wasn’t until delving into my business that I truly understood the benefits of living an organized and simplified life. I see my clients become less stressed after each and every session. I see them accomplishing things that had been on their to do list forever. It’s something I experience as well: I feel lighter and ready to conquer the world when I have all my ducks in a row. I have now expanded Simplicity by Megan so that the benefits of organizing can be felt by more people. I know that organization has the power to change lives, so that became our mission.

HOW IT WORKS
  1. Schedule a Consultation
Every project starts with planning. Our consultation is a one-hour in-home assessment, where we discuss your frustrations, needs, wants, and goals. Consultations include a comprehensive action plan that will guide you from start to finish.
  2. Clear the Clutter
The first step is to sort, purge, and categorize the items in your space. We will work side-by-side with you to help speed up the process and offer valuable advice about what to keep and what to let go of.
  3. Assign Optional Homework
Sometimes there are things you'll want to accomplish on your own, in between our working sessions. This can help keep you on track and save money!
  4. Shopping
We may need to purchase shelves, bins, baskets, and tubs to store your items in an organized way. We'll do the measuring, research, and shopping to find the ideal options for you.
  5. Project Finalization
Once we have the right products we need, we'll organize your items back into your space in a way that fits your life. Everything will have a place- no more looking endlessly for what you need!
  6. Maintenance
Life is busy, and sometimes you need help maintaining your newly organized space. We can come in on a regular basis to ensure the space is working for you, and to help keep it free of clutter.
FAQ
  • What is a professional organizer?
Professional Organizers are experts at turning chaos into order. We work with you to purge items that aren’t serving your life, and create meaningful systems to organize the rest.
  • Can you help with my whole home?
No project is too big or too small. We'll take on anything, from a small closet to an entire home or office.
  • How much does it cost?
We offer multiple packages and a-la-carte hours to fit your needs and budget. Our in-home consultation is a great start and will help us choose which option fits your specific project. See our prices here.
  • How long will it take?
Each project is very different. The size of the space and amount of clutter will affect how long each project will take. We'll provide more details and an estimate during our in-home consultation.
  • Will you help me find the bins and baskets that I need?
Yes! Our service includes shopping for organizing products if necessary. This step is usually the most fun. :)
  • Do you offer a free consultation?
We offer an in-home consultation for a nominal fee. This ensures our organizers are properly compensated for the time and energy spent. Throughout the consultation, we will provide useful tips and suggestions that you can take advantage of on your own. After every consultation, we provide a comprehensive action plan to help you move forward and complete the project, whether or not you end up using our help.
  • Do you work with hoarders?
Hoarding is a complicated undertaking that is a bit beyond our scope. Hoarders usually benefit from the help of a licensed therapist before tackling the physical process of organizing.
  • Have you read 'The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up'?
Yes. :) As with any book, there are aspects we put into practice and there are aspects that aren’t as relevant in our space. This book has done a fantastic job inspiring people to get organized and has brought a lot of positive attention to the profession.
